CHERYL Fernandez-Versini will demand a divorce deal that stops estranged husband Jean-Bernard revealing her secrets.
Her friends say the French playboy has told Cheryl he will contest the divorce — and wants a £3million settlement.
Jean-Bernard, 34, is said to believe X Factor star Cheryl has millions squirrelled away.
But she insists he has vastly over-estimated her wealth.
A family friend said: “JB has been coming up with some ridiculous figures as he devises what he thinks is a fair split of their joint assets. He’s said he is looking for £3million.” Cheryl, who does not have a pre-nuptial agreement with Jean-Bernard, wants any divorce deal to include a clause that forbids him revealing marriage secrets.
She has ordered lawyers to include a confidentiality agreement in any legal settlement.
A source said: “Cheryl is terrified that JB will try to cash in on their relationship.
“Lawyers have put forward divorce papers which include a requirement that Jean-Bernard does not talk publicly about their marriage.”
On Friday night Cheryl, 32, arrived at best friend Kimberley Walsh’s hen do at West London’s Cuckoo Club and was not wearing her wedding ring. In Instagram pictures Jean-Bernard continues to wear his.
Cheryl, who will be a bridesmaid at former Girls Aloud bandmate Kimberley’s wedding, turned up at the club flanked by two minders and wearing a crop top and leopard-spot leggings
A friend said: “Cheryl was definitely the guest of honour and really needed to let her hair down after a very difficult month.
“It is doing the rounds Jean-Bernard is digging his heels in about the divorce and this has wound Cheryl up.
“But she is refusing to let this show and just wants to move forward from the whole mess.”
Kimberley, 34, who will marry ex-Triple 8 singer Justin Scott in Barbados later this month, booked the entire ground floor restaurant for the hen party.
She had originally planned for drag queens and dancers to entertain guests but they were ditched at the eleventh hour when a fee could not be agreed.
A source said: “Kimberley’s people argued there should be no fee because the drag queens would have received exposure as part of a magazine deal. In the real world businesses don’t work like that.”
The Sun on Sunday told last week how Cheryl was ending the volatile 19-month marriage over Jean-Bernard’s jealousy.
He was said to dislike her spending time with other men and even the amount of time she devoted to her chihuahuas Coco and Buster.
Cheryl has claimed she and Jean-Bernard are still friends but sources say the split is not amicable.
The Geordie singer’s personal fortune has been estimated at £12million.
She bought a £5million home in Hertfordshire last year. Cheryl’s biggest earner is her role as an X Factor judge. She has a £2million-a-year contract — £500,000 more than she earned on her return to the show in 2014.
Cheryl steps out for first public appearance since JB split. Cheryl has been paid £500,000 a year to be the face of L’Oreal Paris since 2009.
Chart successes — including co-writing credits and royalties as a solo artist and a former member of Girls Aloud — are believed to be worth a further £1million.
She also successfully sued US X Factor when the show dropped her after she had filmed just one episode in 2011.
Cheryl launched a £1.4million suit for loss of earnings. US court documents showed she was promised £1.1million for the show’s first series and £1.2million for the second.
The contract was a “pay or play” deal, common in the US, by which salary is paid even if the star is sacked. A settlement was reached out of court.
Cheryl has also released books, her own perfume and range of fake eyelashes — ventures believed to be worth more than £1.2million.
She recently spoke of wanting to set up her own record label.
Cheryl and Jean-Bernard were married on the Caribbean island of Mustique in August 2014 in a surprise ceremony attended by just four guests. The couple had met only three months earlier in Cannes. Before they wed Jean-Bernard was described as a playboy by a US newspaper. It said he developed a reputation as a ladies’ man while at university in New York.
He was said to have taken a year off studying to party.
It was also reported he spent his summers on the French Riviera and his winters in St Barts in the Caribbean with “an entourage of models”.
Jean-Bernard was Cheryl’s third love following her divorce from ex-Chelsea star Ashley Cole.
Following their divorce in September 2010, she had a brief romance with dancer Derek Hough.
Her only other serious relationship was a 14-month relationship with American dancer Tre Holloway.
CHERYL has drawn up a list of requirements for her next man.
Sitting down with mum Joan, who joined her at Kimberley Walsh’s hen do, Cheryl agreed her next partner:
— MUST be able to speak English.
— MUST never have dated a celeb.
— MUST never have seen X Factor.
A family friend said: “There was a language barrier with Jean-Bernard.
“Cheryl also will not see anyone who has dated a celeb.
“And it was Joan who suggested he shouldn’t watch X Factor.
“He’ll date Cheryl Tweedy of Newcastle, not because of her profile.”
